Abstract

In order to select a suitable NPK application ratio and rate for winter rape cultivar Xiangzayou 763 in the main production areas of Hunan Province, South-central China, two field experiments were conducted to study the effects of different NPK ratio and dosage on the biological yield, seed yield, and oil content of the cultivar in two consecutive years 2008-2010, with the economic benefits analyzed. A higher seed yield was obtained when the NPK ratio was N : P2 O5 : K2O=1 : 0.50 : 0.50 (treatment B) and N : P2O5 : K2O=1 : 0. 43 : 0. 57 (treatment G) , with the seed production reached 2231 and 2065 kg ? Hm~2, respectively. Treatment B had a significantly higher seed yield than other treatments except treatment G. Nitrogen fertilizer had the greatest effect on the increase of the seed yield, followed by phosphorus fertilizer, and potassium fertilizer. Similar trend was observed in the oil content and biological yield. In treatment B, the seed output was 9816. 97 yuan ? Hm~2, fertilizer investment was only 1641. 23 yuan ? hnT2, and fertilization efficiency was 6741. 34 yuan ? Hm , with the ratio of output to input being 4. 11. It was suggested that the most suitable NPK application ratio for winter rape was N : P2 O5: K2O=1 : 0.50 : 0.50, and the optimal application rate of N, P2O5 and K2O was 180, 90, and 90 kg ? Hm~ , respectively.
