Abstract

Water flooding is adopted to develop the heavy oil in Fuyu Oilfield. A pilot test area, Block Dongl7 was established to tackle the problems encountered during the development of heavy oil blocks considering the reservoir characteristics of the block, and the development results in the test area were systematically traced and evaluated. Taking the performance responses and geological features in the test area into consideration, the technology of combining profile control with viscosity - reduction was applied to changing formation heterogeneity and underground oil flow properties, improving macroscopic sweep efficiency and microscopic displacement efficiency and increasing recoverable reserves. Satisfactory results have been achieved in the pilot test area and the success of the technology has provided a technical support for water flooding in similar blocks of Fuyu Oilfield.
