Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical curative effects of oral administration of nimotop on senile vascular dementia complicated with essential hypertension. Methods Senile outpatients with vascular dementia complicated with hypertension were selected. The self - controlled design was used to make comparison of the systolic and the diastolic pressure changes before and after the oral administration of nimotop. The intellectual level and daily living ability of the subjects before and after the medication were evaluated by MMSE and ADL measuring scales. Results Among the subjects with different degrees of essential hypertension, the systolic and the diastolic pressure after the treatment were lower than those before the treatment P < 0. 05 ). After 4 w of administration of nimotop, the scores of MMSE and ADL measuring scales were higher than those before the treatment P < 0. 05 ). Only one patient had transient dizziness within the observation period. Conclusion Nimotop has good curative effects on senile patients with vascular dementia complicated with hypertension. It can significantly improve the patients' cognitive function and daily living ability, and meanwhile reduce the blood pressure with low incidence of adverse reactions.关键词
