Abstract
Objective; To evaluate the effects of circumferential pulmonary vein ablation (CPVA) on quality of life (QOL) of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Methods; QOL of 56 patients with AF received CPVI and evaluated by Short Form-36 (SF-36) at baseline and 6-month after CPVI. Results; After a mean follow-up of 13 ±4 months, 43 patients were free from AF without anti-arrhythmic drugs. There were significant improvements in QOL ( except for body pain) after CPVA. The physical component summary scores (PCS) of SF-36 were 68 ± 15 and 76 ± 15 before and after treatment, respectively, with significant improvement (P <0. 01 ) , while the mental component summary scores (MCS) were 63 ± 16 and 73 ±17, respectively, with significant improvement (P < 0. 01). Conclusion-. QOL of patients with AF can be improved after CPVA in particular in patients free from AF after treatment.关键词
