摘要

Abstract

Objective To design a piezoelectric bone conduction hearing device using rectangular piezoelectric bimorph as the vibrator to convert the audio signal into vibration in order to stimulate the auditory nerve via the skull to create hearing. Methods The support and structure parameters were optimized by simulation analysis of the vibrator using finite element tools to improve the low frequency performance of the device. Experiments were conducted to test its performance. Results The presented bone conduction hearing device was capable of transferring sound signal. Conchusion With the optimal parameters of the vibrator from simulation, a prototype is produced to conduct experiments in comparison with the electromagnetic bone conduction hearing device, results of which shows the advantages of the former in efficiency and structure simplicity.
