3D analysis of vibration isolation using wave impeding block in layered and vertical heterogeneous foundation under horizontal-rocking coupled excitation

Abstract
In order to study the three-dimensional (3D) isolation vibration effectiveness of wave impeding block (WIB) in layered and vertical heterogeneous foundation under horizontal-rocking coupled excitation, a 3D semi-analytical boundary element method (BEM) model based on thin-layered method (TLM) efficiently to study the wave propagation in layered ground and BEM precisely to solve infinite domain problems is presented. The analysis is accomplished with this model, on which the Green's function is regarded as fundamental solution of a stratified half-space. Then the active isolation effectiveness of WIB is studied in layered and vertical heterogeneous foundation. The results show that the stratification parameter and the heterogeneity have significant influence on the vibration isolation effect of WIB, and the isolation vibration effectiveness of the upper stiff-layer and lower soft-layer ground is better than it of the upper soft-layer and lower stiff-layer ground.关键词
