摘要

Abstract

Two methods which included assisted microwave heating and high temperature and high pressure during sisal degumming by using the sodium hydroxide were studied. And the degummed fibre structures were observed by scanning under electron microscopy. The results showed that, the fibers from the assisted microwave heating method were not only tenacious, but also strengthy, and had good smooth fiber surface. On the other hand, the fibers degummed from high temperature and high pressure method were hard and brittle, and had tough fiber surface.
