Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of vaginal excision of the uterine diverticulum in treatment of patients with cesarean section scar diverticulum. Methods 34 patients with cesarean section scar diverticulum in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University between Jan. 2010 and Jan. 2011 underwent transvaginal excision of the uterine diverticulum. Results The procedures were successfully performed in all patients. The average duration of the surgery was ( 1. 0 ± 0. 4) hours, average volume of intraoperative bleeding was (47. 3 ± 32. 9) mL, and post-surgery length of hospital stay was (3. 9 ±2. 2) days. After surgery, the duration of menstruation was (7. 6 ±4. 9) days shorter in average , which was statistically significant, P < 0. 001. Conclusion Vaginal excision of the uterine diverticulum has a satisfactory short-term effect with few complications. It is worth to be popularized in the treatment of patients with cesarean section scar diverticulum.关键词
