Abstract
The Marsh funnel and apparent viscosities play their own important roles on measuring rheological properties of drilling fluids, but their relationship is still not clear. Based on the principle of viscosity measuring, this paper mainly focuses on discussing the whole flowing process of the drilling fluids in Marsh funnel, and a relation equation of Marsh funnel and apparent viscosities is established. The evaluation results show that Marsh funnel viscosity of drilling fluids reflects the apparent viscosity in a range of shear rates, and the apparent viscosity of a drilling fluid can be estimated by the relation equation while its Marsh funnel viscosity is known. This provides convenient to the use of the apparent and Marsh funnel viscosities of drilling fluids.关键词
