Abstract

The well Niudongl is a key exploration well in Jizhong area, with the completion depth 6,013 m, a bottom hole temperature of 203 ℃. In the third and fourth intervals, there are much mudstone and gypseous mudstone, which leads tight-hole and caving. A Three-high drilling fluid system is developed for this well with densities between 1.2 to 2.0 g/cm3 and the high temperature resistance reaching 200 ℃. The application shows that the HTHP filtration loss is less than 10.0 mL, compared with offset wells, the ROP decreases by 25.33%, the drilling period shortens by 2.39%, which the cuttings are intact due to the high inhibition of this drilling fluid system.
