Abstract

[ Objective ] The aim was to study the effect of ultrafine grinding on the dissolution of total flavonoids in G. Biloba leaves. [ Methods J Scanning electron microscope was used to observe the fine powder and superfine powder of G. Biloba leaves, and the content of flavonoids in the fine powder and superfine powder of G. Biloba leaves was determined by spectrophotometry. [ Result] It was difficult to observe an integrated cell structure of G. Biloba leaves superfine powder in scanning electron microscope, and the great majority of the cells were broken. The superfine powder of G. Biloba leaves showed a higher dissolution rate of flavonoids than the fine powder (P < 0.05). Compared with the fine powder, the content of flavonoids in the superfine powder of G. Biloba leaves was increased by 10.0% under ultrasonic extraction and 11.8% under simple extraction (stirred by spoiling water) (P<0.05), respectively. [Conclusion] Ultrafine grinding could improve the dissolution of flavonoids in G. Biloba leaves.
