Abstract
Through the field investigation and the survey on the workers in local protection stations from April to November,2007,Platalea leu-corodia migrates to Ulan Noel in the whole April in spring,and nests in groups in the dense reeds,dwarf liliturf or the waters with shrub and arbors. The period during late May to middle July is the breeding season of Platalea leueorodia .which generally lays three to four eggs per nest. They started to migrate to the south from late September to October. The large (84 cm) and white Pltdalea leueorodia has a long,grey and lute-shaped beak,the bare part of its head is yellow. Compared with the black-faced Platalea leueorodia in winter,the white one is larger,and the black part on its face is small,and its white plume extends to its beak base and the color of its beak is lighter. The Platalea leueorodia likes to nest in waters, lakes and mudflat,walk slowly in waters,wing their beak to find food. They generally live individually or in small groups,some of them like to walk at night.关键词
