A real-time ECG data compression algorithm based on S3C2440

Abstract
Objective To meet the requirement of high sampling rate in ECG transmission for the embedded mobile wireless terminals, we provided a real-time ECG compression algorithm. Methods According to the characteristics of ECG data, we compressed and analyzed the ECG data with Huffman algorithm, LZ77 algorithm and LZW algorithm on the embedded S3C2440 platform. Based on the analysis of the three algorithms, we proposed a real-time ECG data compression algorithm combined with first-order differential, Huffman algorithm and LZ77 algorithm. Results The compression ratio of the proposed algorithm was 7. 20 and the average calculate time was 392ms. Compared with the general compression algorithms, the proposed algorithm was with a higher compression ratio and a lower ECG time complexity. Conclusions This compression algorithm applied to the remote wireless monitoring terminal can meet the requirements of the system design.关键词
