On Changes of News Media＇s Role in Public Crisis Administration
摘要
Abstract
The government as a leader and the information owner plays an important role in the administration of public crises. In response to and dealing with public crises, the government faces such problems as limited information and lack of timeliness. To solve these problems needs the participation of other non-governmental organiza- tions and their assistance. News media is the largest organization in dealing with information among non-govern- mental organizations and therefore it plays an increasingly important role in the administration of public crises. The participation of news media is not only the need of the government＇s administration in dealing with public crises, but also the need of the news media in developing themselves with the times, and transforming their own role. The change of the role will help the government better respond to and deal with public crises, reduce their harm and impacts on the society, safeguard social order and social stability, and better promote the construction of a harmonious society.关键词
