The Influence of Folk Beliefs in Suzhou Area on Its Social Atmosphere in the Ming Dynasty
摘要
Abstract
Folk beliefs of Suzhou area have been numerous and prosperous since the ancient times. Folk beliefs in the Ming Dynasty developed further based on those of the previous generations. Their expressions were closely linked with its social and economic environment, natural and man-made calamities, local condition and customs, and every social stratum. Folk beliefs, as a component of social ecology and the euhure heritage of Wu Culture, contain both the essence and dross and exert both positive and negative impacts on the social atmosphere in Suzhou area in the Ming Dynasty. Therefore, such impacts of folk beliefs on the social atmosphere cannot be ignored.关键词
