摘要

Abstract

Mn50+xNi41-xSn9ferromagnetic shape memory alloys were prep.ared by arc melting, and their magnetic prop-erties, phase transitions, and magnetocaloric effect were investigated. All the alloys show the coexistence of tetrago-nal L10 structure and cubic Hg2CuTi structure. The martensitic transformation temperatures decrease with the in-crease of Mn content, which can be attributed to the increase of valence electron concentration. In the composition range of 2≤x≤4, great changes in both magnetization and magnetic entropy across martensitic transformation are observed. These results suggest the great potential of Mn50+xNi41-xSn9 alloys as magnetic refrigerant.
