Abstract

Irreducible water saturation is one of the important parameters for low-permeability sandstone gas reser voir evaluation. With the help of unsteady-state constant pressure gas driving method combined with nuclear mag netic resonance (NMR) T2 spectrum technology, the changes of the water saturation and the establishment process of the irreducible water saturation for the low-permeability sandstone gas reservoirs cores are studied under different gas flooding conditions in He8 Member of Sulige Gasfield. The research results show that the water distribution state is prone to be stable and up to irreducible water situation after injecting about 50 pore volume displaced multiples ( PV) under the average pressure differential; there are excellent correlation between the water saturations in differ ent stages of gas drive and PV and displacement time under the average pressure differential; The displacement time to form irreducible water state changes with different displacement pressure and permeability differentials, so it canthe evidence to judge whether the irreducible water state is formed or not. With the increase of the displacement pressure differential, the (irreducible) water saturations at different stages of gas drive all tend to decrease, but the degree are limited. There is much better coincidence in the irreducible water saturations established by gas drive method and centrifugal method. The irreducible water saturations of low-permeability sandstone gas reservoirs in Su lige can be accurately obtained by the integration of above two experimental methods.
