Abstract
Objective: To investigate the treatment and hospitalization expenses of diabetic patients, and to optimize the quality of life for patients and reduce the financial burden on patients. Methods: Together 184 diabetic inpatients were analyzed. Results; The average hospitalization cost of 184 patients was 13,247.61 RMB. Among them, 112 cases with diabetic ketoacidosis cost 15,418.71 RMB during hospitalization; their total average expenses for drugs were 4,739.395 RMB per person; per capita antibiotics cost 2,298.3 RMB, accounted for 48.5% of the total expenses for medicine; the average days in hospital were 21.0 d. Hospitalization expense of the rest of the 72 cases was 9,989.352 RMB; the total average expenses for drugs were 2,434.626 RMB per person, per capita antibiotics cost 681.4 RMB, accounted for 28.0% of the total expenses for medicine; average days in hospital were 16. 8 d. All children had good prognosis, but irregular use of antibiotics still existed. Conclusions; The patient with diabetic ketoacidosis had longer length of hospital stay, higher treatment costs and infection rates than patients with diabetes only.关键词
