Abstract
PuNic art has attracted more and more attention when a great number of＇beautification＇ or landscape renovation programs are carried out across China. The concept and theory of public art make it possible to study the urban sculpture in the context of regional landscape or urban space planning. Landscape design, public infrastructure and nocturne lighting are also included in the study. However, due to the stereotype of art concept and aesthetic inertia, the decoration function of public art is overemphasized and public art is simply regarded as a symbolic craft to decorate our living environment. In addition, the spirit of public art is often ignored. The stereotype of priori aesthetics has hindered the development of public art and it cannot bring benefits to the citizens.关键词
