摘要
Abstract
The BH1307 Compton Scattering Spectrometer produced by Beijing Nuclear Instrument Factory uses a gamma source with high intensity that should be shielded in a lead chamber. When the chamber was closed, a dose rate around the chamber the energy spectra of the radiation environment were was detected evidently. Further measurements to carried out using NaI (T1) scintillation spectro- meter. An unknown ray was found, its energy differs from that of the gamma source. Further analysis indicates that the side radiation mainly resulted from the transmission of gamma ray, and its radiant intensity was relatively weak. However, the front radiation was mainly result of Compton scattering at the angle 90~ between the gamma ray and internal material, and the scattered rays emitted through the emission hole with high intensity. Therefore, the findings reported here suggest that a closed lead shielded chamber should be further screened, especially in the direction of the emission hole.关键词
