Abstract
Objective To evaluate the accuracy of Raypex 5 and Elements Diagnostic electronic apex locators (EALs) in measuring root canal length. Methods Forty extracted single root canal mandibular premolars were used. The actual length was measured with an aid of 15# K file, and electronic length was measured separately with Raypex 5 and Elements Diagnostic EALs. The results obtained with each EAL were compared with the corresponding actual length. Results The percentage of correct measurements of Raypex 5 was 87.5% , while Elements Diagnostic was 92.5% , and there were no statistically significant differences between the two devices. Conclusion Both EALs provided an accurate and useful determination of the root canal length.关键词
