Mechanical Characteristics of Porcelain Long Rod Suspension Insulators for Tension Strings on HVDC Transmission Lines

Abstract
Cap insulators and glass insulators which are widely used as tension strings in China are designed to be very long and heavy to prevent pollution flashover,and the faulty porcelain insulators threat the safety of power grid.Porcelain long rod insulators are extensively applied on tension strings of HVDC for their excellent properties.With the help of the Ansys software,we studied the mechanical characteristics of porcelain long rod insulators under concentrated load and uniformly distributed load,rotated force,and tensile de-bonding force.The conclusion can be drawn that: the mechanical characteristics of porcelain long rod insulators satisfy the requirements of mechanical characteristics of porcelain long rod insulators for tension strings on HVDC.关键词
