Abstract
Objective To explore the causes and characteristics of lower gastrointestinal tract hemorrhage in the different ages.Methods The results of colonoscopic examinations were retrospectively analyze in 168 patients with lower gastrointestinal tract hemorrhage who had been hospitalized during May 2008 to December 2010.Results The top five causes of lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage were as follows:colitis ( 46 cases,27.38% ),perianal abnormality or Crissum's disease ( 32 cases,19.05% ),colorectal carcinoma ( 30 cases,17.86% ),colorectal polyps (27 cases,16.07% ),and inflammatory bowel disease( 29 cases,17.26% ).The incidence rate of colorectal carcinoma was higher in the elderly group than in the other two age groups ( P< 0.01 and P< 0.05 ); that of colitis was higher in the young and middle-aged group than in the other two age groups ( P < 0.01 and P < 0.05 ).The incidence of colorectal carcinoma,perianal abnormality,and colorectal polyps was higher in the male group than in the female group ( P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage is associated with age and sex.Colitis,perianal abnormality or Crissum's disease,colorectal carcinoma,colorectal polyps,and inflammatory bowel disease are the major causes of lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage.关键词
