Abstract
Objective To explore the value of education with text and pictures in preoperative interviews of cardiac surgery and to improve the quality of preoperative visits.Methods One hundred patients undergoing cardiac surgery were randomly divided into two groups:group of preoperative education with text and pictures ( group A ) and group of common preoperative interview ( group B ).Levels of anxiety were assessed using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory ( STAL ) before interview and anesthesia.Blood pressure and pulse rate were measured at admission and before anesthesia.Psychological satisfaction was surveyed postoperatively.Results Before surgery,mean levels of anxiety,pulse rate,and changes in blood pressure did not differ significantly.15 min before anesthesia, the mean level of anxiety and physiological indexes were greater in group B than in group A,with a significant statistical difference ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Postoperative psychological satisfaction was higher in group A than in group B,with a significant difference ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusions Education with text and pictures in preoperative interviews can better alleviate preoperative stress response in patients schedualed for cardiac surgery and stabilize vital signs,and is benefical for smooth anesthesia and surgery,postoperative rehabilitation,and improvement of nursing quality of the operating room.关键词
