Abstract
To investigate the sulfate resistance of fly ash concrete,specimens of concrete were prepared at 20 ℃ using different types of fly ash with fixed water-binder ratios.After pre-test curing in water at 8 or 20 ℃ for 14,28 and 90 d,the specimens were put into sodium sulfate solution at 16 g/L SO42- at 20 ℃ and 8 ℃,the lowest concentration used in current standards.The sulfate resistance was evaluated by visual examination and by monitoring length change.The effects of the fly ash type,the pre-test curing time,and the testing temperature were investigated.The results show that the lime content,the sulfate content and the alkali content of the glassy phase are the main factors controlling the sulfate resistance of fly ash concrete.A mechanism was proposed to explain the influence of the fly ash composition on sulfate resistance of fly ash concrete.关键词
