Expression of mRNAs missing in metastasis in primary breast carcinoma and its clinical significance
摘要
Abstract
Objective: To detect the expression of "missing in metastasis (MIM) mRNA" in human primary breast carcinoma and to evaluate its correlation with clinicopathological features. Methods: The expression of MIM mRNA was detected by SYBR Green quantitative real-time PCR in 60 samples of primary breast carcinoma and adjacent normal tissues, and its expression level was interpreted in terms of various clinical characteristics. Results: The expression of MIM mRNA in breast carcinoma was higher than that of adjacent tissues (P<0.05) and it was associated with lymph node metastasis (P<0.0l), tumor size, and TNM stages (P<0.05), but not age, histological grade, pathological type, ER, PR, CerbB-2 and Ki-67 (P>0.05). Conclusion: Overexpression of MIM mRNA may be a useful marker to predict metastasis of breast carcinoma. It may served as a biomarker for the prediction of moderate or advanced breast carcinoma, and may also prove to be a potential therapeutic target in breast carcinoma.关键词
