Treatment of mine wastewater by Fenton-HDS combined technology

Abstract
Based on the substandard condition of COD in a large copper mine,an optimized process using Fenton’s reagent for current high density sludge(HDS) treatment was investigated.The performance of Fenton’s reagent and the effect of H2O2 concentration on COD removal in mine wastewater were studied.The experimental results indicated that technique of Fenton oxidation-calcium carbide neutralization-flocculation-settling was practicable for mine wastewater treatment.The operating conditions were optimized within the range of 3.0~4.5,H2O2 dosage of 0.5 mL/L,calcium carbide dosage of 8.5 g/L and PAM dosage of 1.5 mg/L.Fenton reaction between H2O2 and Fe2+ under acidic condition was responsible for the COD removal.The removal efficiency of TFe、Zn2+、Cu2+ was better than that of Mn2+.关键词
