Preparation of CuNiMnSi Alloy Powder by Gas Atomization

Abstract
The preparation of CuNiMnSi alloy powder by gas atomization was investigated. And the effects of the spray nozzle, superheat , inner diameter of delivery tube and atomization pressure on alloy powder size and morphology were discussed. The results indicate that extending delivery tube to negative pressure area and keeping the delivery tube right length and inner diameter can effectively decrease clogging and inverse Spraying phenomenon. With the increase of overheat, powder particle size declined. Particularly, superheat from 250 to 300 K, the change was significant while average particle size decreased obviously. When the inner diameter of delivery tube was 3mm, powder particles had good morphology and uniform size distribution. The improvement of retrieval rate for fine powder bene-fitted from the increase of the atomization pressure. And the most suitable pressure was 2.8 - 3. 2MPa. Increasing the inner diameter of delivery tube, powder particles size increased and the uniformity, sphericity and surface smoothness reduced.关键词
