Research on Coarse Grain Behavior of 300 M Steel in Forging

Abstract
The characteristics of macroalructures of 300M steel under different conditions, at different temperature, holding time and different deformation degree are studied through wedge-shaped samples upsetting. And the methods that can eliminate the macroscop-ic coarse grain also were studied. The results show that: (1) The critical temperature ( Tcc) of coarse grain of 300M steel is 1050℃; (2)The suitable heat treating regime and forging deformation amount are effective methods to eliminate the macroscopic coarse grain; (3) The grain size will not change significantly when holding time of heating increases; (4) The abnormal growth of grain size happened when the deformation degree between the critical point 0% - 5‰. The critical deformation degree which can lead to coarse grain should be avoided at the last deformation procedure.关键词
