Abstract
In risk assessment and control of the cascading faults of a power system, it is frequently required to recognize the critical lines of the system. Because there are numerous transmission lines in a practical power system, it is necessary to eliminate the lines without significant influences on the major blackout by screening all the lines of the system before the recognition of critical lines to reduce the computation burden. In this paper, the concept of the edge-tenacity in network vulnerability assessment is applied to power systems, the mathematic model of screening out the critical lines is then built based on the topological structure of the power grids and a preliminary recognition of the critical lines is obtained by the discrete particle swarm optimization algorithm. The IEEE 30-bus system is used as an example to identify the critical lines. The application results verify the effectiveness of the proposed model for eliminating part of the non-critical lines of the power system and reducing the computation burden of identifying the critical lines.关键词
