Abstract
XML, or extensible Markup Language, is widely applied to data interface definitions in computer software. The article analyzes the technical characteristics and implementation principles of Oracle XML DB and DB2 pure XML about storing and retrieving XML documents. Through tests and comparison, the efficiency difference on storage and retrieval between the two techniques is analyzed. Under the same XML document storage burden, the time consuming ratio between Oracle XML DB and DB2 pure XML about storage is roughly 2-1 while that about retrieval is roughly 1.32:1.关键词
