摘要
Abstract
There are abundant metaphors in scientific English lexis. Lexical metaphors not only have significant cognitive function, but also are means of conveying interpersonal meanings. On the one hand, metaphors in scientific English lexis can make the abstract scientific information and activities more specific, which is vital to the spread of scientific knowledge~ on the other hand, metaphors in scientific English lexis can shorten the psychological distance between writers and readers, which serves as a tool to persuade people to accept the scientific ideas. Among them, the interpersonal functions of body metaphors and animal metaphors are more apparent. The correct understanding and accurate use of metaphors in scientific English lexis are of great importance to the reading and writing of scientific English texts.关键词
