Abstract
At present, China has entered the aging society. As a result, urban transport system is facing new challenges. In this paper, urban transport system problems in aging society are presented based on the analysis of elder's travel characteristics. After foreign experiences are reviewed, some countermeasures and suggestions are put forward for the urban transport system of aging society, which include public transport development, construction of barrier-free facilities, safety education for elder, public training, certification system improvement for old drivers, and others. The government has the responsibility to speed up the construction of relevant urban transport facilities to consider elder's specific demand and give them enough protection. The findings of this paper may enhance the adaptability of urban transport system to the aging society.关键词
