Service life prediction of corroded RC structures based on interval analysis

Abstract
Corrosion degree of a reinforcing bar is a great uncertainty.In order to reflect impacts of uncertain corrosion on life prediction of RC structures,interval analysis was introduced into service life prediction of corroded RC structures.Firstly,fundamental knowledge about interval analysis and its solving method were introduced.To avoid interval overestimation caused by interval computation principle,optimization method is an effective method to solve interval problems.Secondly,based on the certain prediction model of steel corrosion process,interval number was used to describe structural parameters and environmental parameters,and interval prediction method for structural damage caused by steel corrosion was proposed.Finally,termination criterion for service life was determined,and interval prediction method for service life prediction of corroded RC structures was put forward.The method was used to analyze an actual structure,and the analysis result indicates that the analysis process without probability model of uncertain parameters is simple and the interval result is visual and easy to accept.关键词
