Abstract
Revetment is one of the most important parts of waterfront space, which is also the focus of waterfront landscape design. During waterfront revetment design,we often put more emphasis on its cost, function and aesthetics,but the security of waterfront space is inclined to be neglected.Based on in-depth investigation of people＇s daily life,we studied the revetment design from Cao Chang Men to Qing Liang Men around external Qinhuai River（in Nanjing City,China）.Moreover,we analyse the potential safety hazard of the current waterfront revetment design, hoping that more concerns about the security of revetments would be emphasized in the future.关键词
