Abstract
Objective: To evaluate clinical effects of ramification avulsion of inferior maxillary nerve in management oftrigeminal neuralgia. Methods: 29 cases of idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia were retrospectively reviewed. Nerve avulsionwas included inferior maxillary nerve and mental nerve branches. Results: There was no recurrence of neuralgia during0.5-5 yeans follow-up. Loss of sensation and numbness was a result of nerve ramification. Conclusion: Ramificationavulsion of inferior maxillary nerve may improve the therapeutic results and may be a facultative treatment for trigeminalneuralgia.关键词
