Abstract

Objective To understand operating room (OR) nurses' turnover intention and to explore its influencing factors. Methods A total of 221 OR nurses from four Class III Grade I hospitals in Harbin were surveyed with Turnover Intention Questionnaire, Work Ability Index, McCloskey/Mueller Satisfaction Scale and a basic demographic form. Results The total average score of turnover intention of OR nurses was (2.03 ±0.60). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis turned out that length of service, welfare and status, shift arrangement and work-family balance were the independent influencing factors of turnover intention (P<0.01 or P<0.05). Conclusion The OR nurses' turnover intention is moderate and variables which is influenced by length of service, welfare and status, shift arrangement and work-family balance. More attention should be paid to the shortcomings of turnover intention in order to decrease the OR nurses' turnover intention.
