Development of Layered Monitoring and Specialized Inspection System of Groundwater Environment in Beijing

Abstract
With the accelerating urbanization of Beijing city, the increasing in groundwater exploitation and the occurrence of more serious groundwater environment problems cause that the previous groundwater monitoring system is hardly satisfied with the new situation. This paper presents the process of developing a new groundwater monitoring system by integrating the historical monitoring systems owned by several organizations in the past three years. The new groundwater monitoring system includes a regional monitoring network consisting of 822 monitoring wells to monitor the four aquifers in the high and low flow periods and a specialized inspection network consisting of 360 monitoring wells to monitor the contaminant sources quarterly. In addition, the new monitoring system includes 21 new organic indicators and can monitor the groundwater environment with a scale of 1 '? 50000. Finally, this paper introduces the operational mode and the latest monitoring results of the new groundwater monitoring system.关键词
