Study on Triploid Induction in the Half-Smooth Tongue Sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis)

Abstract
The second polar body extrusion was inhibited to optimize the conditions of cold shock for producing triploid half smooth tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis). Triploidy was confirmed successfully by flow cytometry and chromosome observations. The highest triploidy rate of 35% was achieved by treating the fertilized eggs for 20 minutes in 4 ℃ seawater starting at 5 minutes after fertilization. Male and Female chromosome types were determined to be ZZZ and ZWW, and appeared in 1 : 1 ratio. ZZW chromosome type was not observed, which suggested that crossing over between Z and W chromosomes was inhibited in half-smooth tongue sole.关键词
