摘要
Abstract
Sex ratio at birth is high and the phenomenon of drowning girls is relatively prevalent among the Dong Minority in Southeast Guizhou Province.This paper aims to explore the unique social foundation of high sex ratio at brith through a case.Studies suggest that the preference for boys is behind the unique natural and social ecology： the serious dependency of the natural economy of agriculture on the male labor,the exclusion to adopted marriage,the reliable expectation of raising children for the life support of the old agers,the status of men being emphasized in the social structure as well as the questioning to its moral of the families without boy infant.关键词
