Nursing for Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Patients Treated with FOLFIRI Regimen

Abstract
Objective; To investigate effective nursing methods for side effects induced by FOLFIRI regimen in metastatic colorectal cancer patients. Methods; Twenty-eight pathologically diagnosed metastatic colorectal cancer patients were treated with FOLFIRI regimen. Nursing interventions such as mental nursing, central venous catheter nursing, acute cholinergic syndrome nursing, delayed-onset diarrhea nursing and health education were concucted. Results: Acute cholinergic syndrome occurred in 7 cases , de-layed-onset diarrhea in 6 cases, myelosupression in 5 cases and nausea and/or vomiting in 18 cases. After timely symptomatic treatments and comprehensive nursing interventions, all the 28 cases had successfully completed chemotherapy. Conclusions; For metastatic colorectal cancer patients treated with FOLFIRI chemotherapy, timely and effective nursing interventions can reduce side-effects aswell as insure successful completion of chemotherapy and improve the life quality of patients.关键词
