Abstract
Objective To detect the expression of S100P, E-cadherin and Ki-67 in human colorectal carcinomas, to analyse their expression correlation and evaluated their clinical significance. Methods The S100P,E-cadherin and Ki-67 expression in the tissue of eighty colorectal carcinoma patients,in their normal intestinal mucosa near the tumor,and in thirty benign in-test disease tissue was detected by immuno-histochemistry and then investigated their correlation with clinical and pathological features and the renlationship among them. Results ①The positive rate of S100P protein in colorectal carcinoma group (57. 5%) was strikingly higher than in the normal tissue (3. 8%) and benign intest disease (6. 7%) groups (X2 = 66. 234, P <0. 01). In lymph node metastasis group and distant organ metastasis group (Dukes C+D), the expression rate of S100P protein was obviously higher than in non-lymph node metastasis group (μ =4. 940, P<0. 05) and early stage group respectively (X2 = 5. 693, P<0. 05). The expression of S100P protein increased in the more poorly differentiation tumor. ②The positive rate of E-cadherin in colorectal carcinoma group (52. 5%) was obviously lower than in the normal tissue (93. 8%) and benign intest disease (90. 0%) groups (X2 =41. 014, P<0. 01). The expression of E-cadherin was significantly correlated with tumor differentiation,lymph node metastasis and clinic staging (P<0. 05). ③The positive index of Ki-67 in colorectal carcinoma group (66. 78% ± 9. 77%) was notably higher than the other two contrast groups (31. 40% ± 9. 19% and 7. 14%±3. 87%)(P<0. 01). In lymph node metastasis group and distant organ metastasis group (Dukes C+D),the positive index of Ki-67 protein became higher than the contrast group,but no obvious difference was observed ( P>0. 05). There was no correlation between the Ki-67 expression and theother clinical and pathological features. ④ Correlation analysis showed that: there was no obvious correlation observed among them (P>0. 05). But can not deny the possibility that they may effect through indirect cooperation. Conclusion S100P and Ki-67 was highly expressed in human colorectal carcinomas, but low level E-cadherin expression was observed. The expression of S100P and E-cadherin was significantly correlated with tumor invasion and metastasis. It is helpful to detect the three index together for predicting tumor progression and prognosis.关键词
