Abstract
The academic achievement of Professor Zhang Huateng＇ s Spring of Northern Group （1895--1911） is analyzed. This work has breakthroughs in the study of Yuan Shikai. By using new historical data and modern perspective, the personnel, the process of spring, and the historical role of Northern Group are evaluated objectively and impartially in this book.
