Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of syntaxin 6 (STX6) and p53 in esophageal carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was carried out to determine the expression of STX6 and p53 in esophageal carcinoma and normal esophageal tissue from 46 patients. Results The positive incidences of STX6 and p53 expression in esophageal carcinoma tissues were 54.3% and 63.0% , respectively. Association analysis revealed that (he high expression of STX6 and p53 had negative correlations with age and gender (P>0.05). However, significant correlations with tumor differentiation and lymph node metastasis were identified (P<0.05). The over expression of STX6 strongly correlated with positive expression of p53 in esophageal carcinoma (r=0.45, P<0.05). Conclusion STX6, as the novel p53 family target gene, might play an important role in esophageal carcinoma, together with p53.关键词
