摘要

Abstract

Because of longer fractal encoding time and blocking effect of DCT with high compression ratio, propose a fast fractal image compression coding algorithm based on DCT. By sorting the eigenvalues of sub-blocks and father blocks, it makes the sub-blocks search only those eigenvalues eligible parent blocks,thereby reducing the complexity of the search and speeding up the search speed. In order to improve the quality of reconstructed images,this algorithm implements the fractal image coding aud then carries on DCT on al] of the 8 x8 grey error blocks. The simulation result shows this can achieve higher image quality and higher compression ratio and can get a good coding result with combining the advantage of the two algorithms.
