Effect of bone matrix gelatin/true bone ceramic on the osteogenic potential of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells

Abstract
BACKGROUND: Previous studies have found that simply bone matrix gelatin (BMG) material compound with bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) has a good osteogenic potential for bone defects with better effects, but simply BMG cannot be used to repair bone defects in load-bearing area because of rapid degradation speed and bad hardness.OBJECTIVE: To observe the changes in the osteogenic potential of BMSCs co-cultured with BMG/true bone ceramic (BMG/TBC).METHODS: BMG and TBC were used to prepare recombinant bone that was co-cultured with BMSCs for48 hours in vitro. Osteogenic potential of the recombinant bone was detected by Alizarin bordeaux staining.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: BMSCs in composited material could adhere, grow and proliferate well after co-cultured with BMG/TBC. There were no changes of the osteogenic potential and cell phenotype. It is indicated that BMG/TBC is easy to combined with BMSCs without affecting osteogenic potential, which shows a good biocompatibility.关键词
