Good English Compositions Are Not ＂Taught＂ by Teachers
摘要
Abstract
The teaching of English writing has been all the time a weak chain in English teaching for English majors. A survey of English writing teaching for English majors at Xiaogan University was conducted so as to improve the teaching of this major course. Questionnaires covered the following aspects： students attitude towards English writing and their relevant afterclass learning activities, their awareness of their own English writing ability and process and their viewpoints of writing assessment. Based on the respective writing theories and the specific English writing teaching practice, the results of the questionnaires were analyzed and a conclusion was finally drawn. Teachers of this major course should elicit students positive feelings,guide their afterclass reading and develop their self initiative English writing ability, since good English compositions are not ＂taught＂ by teachers, after all.关键词
