Classification and Retrieval of Abdominal Medical Image Based on Gray Level Concurrence Matrix

Abstract
Objective To get higher accuracy of image classification and retrieval of the abdomen medical images. Methods A new method to process the classification and retrieval of abdominal medical images based on Gray Level Concurrence Matrix (GLCM) was proposed. Two key features including contrast and entropy were utilized to classify and retrieve the images. Matlab was used to construct the interface in order to facilitate doctor's operations, which included classification and retrieval. The classification was to classify the images according to the type of disease, which could show the type of disease and the number of corresponding images in the image library. The retrieval processing was after the image input of known disease, the system could search and display the image of similar disease. Results The classification and retrieval were accurate in 3 types of diseases including liver cancer, liver hemangioma and liver cyst, and the interface of the system was easy for doctors to operate. Conclusion The experimental test results of the clinical imaging data show that the classification and retrieval accuracy is high to meet the clinical needs.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2011,33(3) :4-5,30]关键词
