Simulation of Dynamic Characteristics of Steam Accumulators in the Badaling Solar Power Tower Plant

Abstract
A whole working condition mathematical model for the steam accumulator in Badaling solar power tower plant was developed.According to the structure and working mechanism of the steam accumulator,the dynamic energy and mass conservation equations in both the vapor region and the liquid region were established.Dynamic mass and energy transport between the vapor region and the liquid region was considered by introducing the vaporization and condensation through the vapor-liquid interface.Based on STAR-90 simulation platform,the charging and discharging processes of the steam accumulator were simulated,and the step disturbance of steam flow during the charging and discharging processes was numerically investigated.The results show that the characteristics of pressure variation in the steam accumulator in the charging process are different from that in the discharging process.In the discharging process,the steam temperature can be evidently influenced when increasing the steam flow rate,easily causing a low superheat steam at the turbine inlet.The findings in this paper provide valuable insights into the design and control strategy of solar thermal power plants with thermal storage systems.关键词
