Abstract
Objectives To observe the clinical effect of nitrous oxide ( NO ) inhalation used in gastroscopy. Methods Time length of gastroscopy operation and blood pressure, heart rate ( HR ), blood oxygen saturation were observed in 103 subjects receiving NO inhalation ( NOI group ) and 110 subjects receiving conventional gastroscopy ( control group ) before, during, after gastroscopy, and reaction and feeling during gastroscopy. Results Pharyngeal discomfort, nausea, vomiting and restlessness incidence were lower in NOI group than in control group, the difference was significant except restlessness incidence ( P < 0. 05 ). The operational time length of NOI group was shorter than that of control group ( P <0. 05 ). Systolic pressure ( SP ), diastolic pressure and HR before, during, after gastroscopy of NOI group were lower than that of control except SP before it ( P < 0. 05 ). But there was not significant difference in blood oxygen saturation ( P > 0. 05 ). The case number with unbearable and slight discomforts was fewer in NOI group than in control group, and cases without discomfort more, the difference was significant ( P <0. 05 ). Conclusion NO inhalation used in gastroscopy is worthy of clinical application.关键词
